• Vacuum & dust your air conditioning unit. Shut it off, clean & cover it until spring
• Schedule a chimney cleaning and heating system maintenance
• Rake any leaves and get rid of any mulch
• Plant new trees, trim branches & shrubs winterize any perennials, clean out all annuals.
• Lay any required sod
• Turn off your sprinklers and disconnect water hoses (before first freeze)
• Clean off all debris from your roof & check for damage, flush eaves troughs and downspouts with water and inspect the joints
• Check safety devices: smoke/carbon alarms, and fire extinguishers
• Check for any plumbing leaks on supply lines to your toilets and sinks
• Check all windows and entry ways for caulking for separations & cracks, re-caulk if necessary
• Change the direction of your ceiling fan to create an upward draft that redistributes warm air from the ceiling
