Everyone has “must haves” on their search list, certain home features they would like in their new home. Carefully view the new home designs to see which plan is the closest fit to your “must haves”. Don’t be surprised if a plan that has a smaller or larger square footage better suits your needs. Everyone’s lifestyles are different and certain plans will speak more directly to your lifestyle. The sales representative is very helpful in deciphering the floor plans so ask questions.

Now, where can your favourite floor plan be accommodated in the new build community? In many of the new home communities not every plan can be placed on every lot for various reasons, for example pie-shaped lots, frontage and depth of lots. The sales representative is aware of which homes can be accommodated on which lots, so they will steer you in the right direction.

Ok, you’ve found the house plan and lot, now what? Time to sit down with a sales representative to draw up the necessary paperwork to purchase your dream home. How much is the deposit? Should I go to the bank? When will construction begin? So many questions to discuss and for you as a purchaser, to understand.
